Maintenance Planner required for a renowned automotive company based in Kariega

The Maintenance Planner ensures that all plant, machinery, and equipment in the Assembly Plant are maintained safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and implement continuous improvement processes to enhance plant maintenance, machinery efficiency, and cost-effectiveness

  • Support maintenance supervisors and managers with multi-disciplinary technical expertise on preventative maintenance for electrical, mechanical, structural, and related systems

  • Develop, administer, and drive PM (Preventive Maintenance) and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) systems using Maximo and Shop Floor Management

  • Analyze major plant stoppages or breakdowns and implement countermeasures to prevent recurrence

  • Control maintenance schedules and systems to determine corrective actions

  • Maintain facility manuals, technical data, and calibration/certification records

  • Manage cleaning contractors and processes to ensure effective service for Assembly Operations

  • Develop, plan, and update maintenance processes that support preventative maintenance systems

Qualifications

  • Degree or National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering

Experience

  • 3โ€“5 yearsโ€™ experience as a Maintenance Planner in an automotive manufacturing environment

  • Hands-on experience with preventative and predictive maintenance

Essential Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of FMEA, problem solving, and root cause analysis in a maintenance environment

  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations

  • Experience with production facilities including filling equipment, conveyor systems, lifts, hoists, etc.

  • Ability to coordinate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to plan work orders and minimize downtime

  • Knowledge of project management principles and execution of complex projects

  • Technical understanding of PLC systems, instrumentation, and drive systems

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Projects, Outlook) and Maximo
