Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fruit & Veg Manager or similar role in FMCG retail.
- Strong knowledge of fresh produce handling and quality control.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy for ordering and reporting.
- Relevant retail or food safety qualifications (advantageous).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the Fruit & Veg department.
- Ensure high standards of freshness, quality, and visual merchandising.
- Control stock levels, reduce wastage, and manage shrinkage.
- Achieve sales targets and maximise gross profit.
- Manage ordering, receiving, and stock rotation.
- Lead, train, and motivate department staff.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer queries.
