Requirements
- NQF 4 (Grade 12) Qualification & Tool Jig & Die Maker Trade Test
- Minimum of 3 years plant maintenance experience
- Jig and tooling precision adjustments working experience and knowledge
- Knowledge of various types of welds
- Knowledge of measurement
- Knowledge in quality management IATF –16946
- Knowledge and Maintenance of Press Tooling
- Ability to perform various types of welds
- Understanding of Health & Safety practices
- Good problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated & hand-on hand hard working
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and know the scope of his work
- Effective time management skills (plan and prioritize activities)
- Knowledge of production process: Spot Welding, Press tools, tool room and jigs,
- Understanding of engineering drawings
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Responsibilities
- Responsible for the repair, maintenance and improvement to all tooling jigs and fixtures in line with production and customer requirements to support the business objectives.
- Ensure that quality specifications are met
- Adjusting jigs, tools and grippers according to quality specifications
- Maintain jigs and tools in proper work condition
- Adjust production processes: Spot welding, screwing, clinching, gluing
- Performing routine and planned machine maintenance as scheduled
- Track and analyze consumable usage
- Identifying and respond to safety hazards
- Support breakdown maintenance operations
- Compiling and maintaining records of machine history
- Immediate diagnosis of the quality problems, and identify a solution to the problem
- Assisting maintenance and production team with Asset Care
- Analyze dimensional and weld reports in order to improve final part stability
- Verify part release, self-control sheet, parameter sheets are completed as per control plan
- Keep track of adjustments done to jigs and fixtures by completing Shim register and Adjustment Log sheet
- Investigate and implement continuous improvement initiatives
