Job Summary
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up, operate, and monitor the tuber machine according to production specifications.
- Adjust machine settings for paper width, length, number of plies, and perforations as per job requirements.
- Feed raw materials (paper reels) and monitor the tube formation process for alignment and quality.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure tubes meet dimensional and structural standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and clean the machine regularly.
- Identify and resolve machine issues or escalate to maintenance when needed.
- Record production data, including quantities produced, downtime, and material usage.
- Collaborate with Bottomer Operators and the rest of the production team to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12
- Proven experience operating tuber machines in a paper production environment.
- Good mechanical and technical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with paper grades, reel alignment, and gluing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and measurements.
- High attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as necessary.
