KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Set up and operate bottomer machines used in the production of packaging
2. Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper bag formation and sealing.
3. Ensure the correct alignment, folding, and gluing of bag bottoms to meet quality standards.
4. Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on the machine.
5. Conduct regular quality checks on output to identify defects or inconsistencies.
6. Work with the team to meet production targets and minimize downtime and waste.
7. Accurately document production data, machine settings, and shift reports.
8. Adhere strictly to safety procedures and use appropriate PPE at all times.
9. Communicate any material shortages, machine malfunctions, or safety issues to supervisors promptly.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Grade 12
2. Experience operating bottomer machines in a packaging environment (essential – a must have)
3. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
5. Understanding of production processes and quality control standards in packaging.
6. Ability to read job orders and interpret specifications for bag dimensions and glue application.
7. Physically fit and capable of lifting and standing for long periods.
8. Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as required.
