We are seeking a motivated Desktop and Network Support Technician to join our IT helpdesk team. The ideal candidate will provide first-line technical support for hardware and software issues, troubleshoot and resolve user problems, and ensure the optimal performance of all desktop systems and peripherals. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining user workstations, managing tickets in our ticketing system. A solid understanding of Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Windows Based Networking, and excellent problem-solving abilities are required. The candidate must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with users in both English and Afrikaans. License and own transport essential.

Qualifications & Skills
– Technical Proficiency:
o Strong knowledge of various Windows operating system versions, Productivity Applications like MS office and 365, Printer and Software installation and basic hardware characteristics.
– Problem-Solving:
o Diagnostics and troubleshooting skills
– Customer Service:
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users and maintain excellent customer service.
– Certifications/Experience:
o Experience with IT support roles and network setup and configuration essential. Certifications like CompTIA A+ and N+ would be beneficial.
– Adaptability:
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing technical environments.
– Driver’s License:
o Licenses and own mode of transport essential for occasional field work, Collections and Deliveries

Responsibilities
– Hardware and Software Support:
o Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktop systems, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices. Main software support on vet practice management suite remotely country wide.
– User Support:
o Provide technical assistance to users via phone, email, in-person, or remote access, ensuring efficient resolution of their technical issues.
– System Maintenance:
o Perform routine maintenance on desktop systems and peripherals to optimize performance and security, including daily system backups and data recovery operations. Mail Archiving Etc.
– Documentation:
o Document technical issues, resolutions, and procedures in a knowledge base for future reference.
– Onboarding
o Assist with the setup of new user accounts and workstations, including hardware and software configuration.
