Purpose:
Carrol Boyes is seeking a Mid-Level Graphic/Packaging Designer with a strong graphic design background to join our Merchandise Department Team.
This role is ideal for a designer who is passionate about premium packaging, confident in print and production execution, and experienced in creating beautiful, retail-ready packaging and product artwork for a design-led brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, adapt, and update packaging artwork for new and existing products
  • Apply brand artwork, patterns, imagery, and finishes consistently across packaging formats
  • Create and adapt graphic artwork for product surfaces, including decals, patterns, and placements
  • Prepare accurate, print-ready artwork for factories, printers, and suppliers
  • Work confidently with deadlines, packaging layouts, and repro setup
  • Review proofs and ensure artwork accuracy prior to production
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development, Art, and Replenishment teams
  • Liaise with external factories and suppliers to resolve artwork and production queries
  • Maintain an organised digital artwork library with strict version control
  • Brief and coordinate packaging or product photography when required
  • Ensure version control and correct usage of packaging files
  • Responsible for artwork accuracy and production readiness
  • Review proofs and ensure artwork accuracy prior to production
  • Ensure correct and approved artwork is released to factories
  • Packaging Design Artwork Execution
  • Apply brand artwork, patterns, imagery, and finishes accurately across packaging formats
  • Create and manage decal placements, layout, and positioning
  • Ensure packaging is fit for purpose, retail-ready, and aligned to brand standards
  • Manage updates and revisions efficiently to avoid production errors or reprints

Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in graphic design with strong packaging and print focus
  • Proven experience taking artwork through to print / factory production
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Product Design, or related field
  • Proven experience in Adobe illustrator & Photoshop, procreate, Experience in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
  • Proven experience in Adobe Suite of programs including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Solid understanding of print processes, repro principles, and colour management
  • Experience working with deadlines and packaging formats
  • A portfolio clearly demonstrating packaging design and product graphic work Illustration skills
