A leading company in the engineering and fluid technology sector is seeking a hands-on and experienced Field Service Supervisor to oversee field service operations related to low-pressure hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems.

This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who enjoys being on-site, guiding teams, solving complex problems, and ensuring top-tier service delivery to customers across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership
  • Supervise and coordinate field service technicians and specialists
  • Provide on-the-job training, technical guidance, and performance support

  • Ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to customer satisfaction

Service Delivery & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems

  • Ensure all services meet company quality standards and procedures

  • Support technicians with advanced fault-finding and system optimisation

Customer Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients

  • Understand customer needs and provide timely, effective technical solutions

  • Work closely with Sales and Product teams to identify service growth opportunities

Inventory & Asset Control

  • Manage spare parts, tools, and service equipment inventory

  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure resource availability

  • Oversee asset registers and fleet-related requirements

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety procedures and industry regulations

  • Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations

  • Ensure compliance with ISO and internal audit standards

Quality, Reporting & Administration

  • Monitor quality of field work and implement corrective actions where needed

  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and reports

  • Provide regular performance and operational reports to management

Minimum Qualifications

  • National Certificate (NQF Level 4)

  • Recognised Trade Certificate in a relevant technical field

Experience & Competencies

  • 3–5 years’ experience in field service operations

  • Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems

  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience

  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and field service best practices

  • Computer literacy for reporting and service documentation

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
