We are looking for a highly organized, analytical, and proactive Fleet Manager to manage and optimize a fleet of approximately 50 vehicles supporting our field operations. This role is critical in ensuring the fleet runs efficiently, safely, cost-effectively, and in full compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Monitoring & Tracking:
• Monitor daily vehicle usage, mileage, and allocation
• Ensure optimal utilization while minimizing downtime
Fuel Management:
• Track fuel spend and consumption trends
• Implement controls to reduce wastage and identify irregularities
Maintenance & Repairs:
• Coordinate routine servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance
• Manage accident-related repairs and liaise with service providers and panel beaters
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records per vehicle
Licensing, Compliance & Fines:
• Manage annual licensing, registrations, and compliance documentation
• Track, reconcile, and resolve traffic fines timeously
• Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and fully insured
Cost Control & Reporting:
• Recover costs from drivers where applicable
• Analyse fleet expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Compile monthly fleet performance reports for management
Accident & Incident Management:
• Record and investigate accidents with full documentation
• Manage insurance claims through to final settlement
Requirements:
• Proven fleet management experience (ideally managing 30+ vehicles)
• Strong knowledge of maintenance cycles, licensing, and compliance
• Proficiency in fleet tracking systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage high-volume operational tasks
• High attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license (Code 8 or higher)
