Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, simulation, and optimisation of Plastic-to-Chemical (PTC) processes.
- Conduct material and energy balance calculations and equipment sizing.
- Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and control engineers for smooth project execution.
- Participate in process safety evaluations such as HAZOPs and risk assessments.
- Support commissioning, start-up, and ongoing operations by analysing plant performance and identifying improvements.
- Contribute to process control strategies and sustainability initiatives.
- Supervise lab-scale testing and potentially visit operational sites, including occasional international travel.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
- 2–3 years’ experience in process design, preferably in chemical or industrial plant settings (internships count).
- Strong foundation in thermodynamics, heat/mass transfer, and fluid dynamics.
- Experience with process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, HTRI).
- Proactive and curious mindset, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- English fluency essential.
- Must be willing to relocate and work a minimum of 3 days per week on-site in Eindhoven.
