SUPERVISOR ENGINEERING MECHANICAL

Job Summary

Join our team as a skilled Boilermaker or Fitter with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. A valid artisan trade certificate and mechanical foreman’s competence or the potential to obtain one within 12 to 24 months are essential. Knowledge in gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics, valves, structural integrity, and reliability-centered maintenance is required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 /NQF 4 /Abet level 4 /N3 qualification
• Relevant valid artisan trade certificate (section 13 or section 26D) with proof of a formal learnership program
• 5+ years’ experience as a Boilermaker or Fitter
• Mechanical foreman’s certificate of competence or the ability to obtain one within 12 to 24 months
• Knowledge of gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics, valves, structural integrity, and reliability-centered maintenance
• Valid driver’s license
• Clear security screening record
• Medically fit for the specific business area

Advantageous Qualifications:

• SAP and Coupa knowledge
• Previous experience as a mechanical foreman

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to do standby and work overtime and weekends
• Knowledge of white metal bearing and lubricants/lubrication systems
• Knowledge of water treatment systems
• Knowledge of electro/pneumatic equipment
• Intermediate computer skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Competency in laser alignment, vibration analysis interpretation, mechanical drawing, and hydraulic diagrams interpretation

Key Responsibilities:

• Procure/order spares within the area of responsibility
• Attend meetings, communicate continuously with teams
• Write daily and weekly reports, investigate operations within control area
• Coordinate day-to-day mechanical activities, monitor plant performance
• Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and data for planning and design work
• Take responsibility for project control, cost estimates, and quantity take-offs
• Verify statutory and daily examination records
• Check shift communication logs for problems and special instructions
• Extend technical skills and knowledge beyond trade discipline
• Lead and motivate teams effectively
