Job Interview – What To Do?

Have you ever been in a situation which you didn’t fell comfortable about?

No? Ah… maybe you have never been in a Job interview…

The Job Interview is one of the greatest opportunities you may have to impress the employer and get the Job of your dreams. However you need to prepare yourself to avoid mistakes which could cause you to fail.

This blog has the aim to guide you through this process in a positive and successful way.

What to do?




  • Be Confident

Look the interviewer always in the eyes, smile gently, sit straight leaning slightly forward nodding just a little as the interviewer speaks.

  • Stay Relaxed

Or at least pass the impression that you are relaxed. In a Job Interview be flexible and give yourself some time to answer those challenging unexpected questions by saying “That is a great question, it deserves a good answer”, “Good question, let me think for a minute, you need a good standard answer”. It will give you time and will add some confidence to your speech.

  • Listen First

Let the interviewer lead the conversation, listen until he has completely finished his question than you speak. Follow the direction which he is guiding the interview. You may ask questions if you need to clarify something during the interview, however do not divert from the subjected raised by the interviewer.

  • Highlight The Right Abilities

When talking about yourself, highlight only the abilities and aspects that will benefit the company. It will make of you a stronger candidate. What brings us to our next step…

  • Know The Company

It is very important to study the nature of the company you are applying for, you must at least have an idea of its goals, mission and projects in order to prepare your speech accordingly.

  •  Your Past

When appropriate, mention your past successes showing how it could contribute to the company values and growth.

  • Be Aware Of Your Weaknesses

In case you have experienced a dismissal before or you haven’t got some needed skills or experience for the position you have applied for, be honest and use your qualities to leverage the interview.

  • Past Employers

Always talk about your past employers in a good and positive way, in case you didn’t have a good experience at a former job highlight the skills you have developed that will benefit the next company.

  • Ask Key Questions

By the end of the interview you might be given a chance to ask some questions. Based on your previous research about the company prepare questions that will show some knowledge about the company’s industry sector.
